Parteien zwischen Resilienz und Erosion: Thomas Poguntke mit Keynote am ARENA Centre for European Studies
PRUF-Direktor Thomas Poguntke hat im Rahmen des internationalen REDIRECT-Projekts einen Keynote-Vortag am ARENA Centre for European Studies der Universität Oslo gehalten.
Zentraler Inhalt der Keynote ist das Spannungsverhältnis zwischen Resilienz und Erosion politischer Parteien. Ausgehend von Daten des Political Party Database Project (PPDB) untersuchte er die strukturelle Stärke von Parteien, innerparteiliche Demokratie sowie die Rolle von Parteien im demokratischen System.
Die Analyse zeigt unter anderem, dass sich die Verankerung der Parteien zunehmend von der Gesellschaft hin zum Staat verschiebt. Diese Entwicklung verändert die Vermittlungsfunktion von Parteien und fördert elitenzentrierte Politikformen.
Politische Parteien erleben Resilienz und Erosion gleichzeitig, was die Herausforderungen moderner Demokratien widerspiegeln.

Parties between resilience and erosion: Thomas Poguntke gives keynote speech at ARENA Centre for European Studies
PRUF Director Thomas Poguntke gave a keynote speech at the ARENA Centre for European Studies at the University of Oslo as part of the international REDIRECT project.
The keynote speech focuses on the tension between resilience and erosion in political parties. Using data from the Political Party Database Project (PPDB), he examined the structural strength of parties, internal party democracy, and the role of parties in the democratic system.
Among other things, the analysis shows that the anchoring of political parties is increasingly shifting from society to the state. This development is changing the mediating role of political parties and promoting elite-centered forms of politics.
Political parties are experiencing both resilience and erosion, reflecting the challenges facing modern democracies.
